Intermediate Database Developer
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Software Development Manager
- Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases
- Maintain database dictionaries and integrate systems through database design
- Competent to work on most phases of software development, but may require some instruction and guidance in other phases
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in designing & developing databases and database systems
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & 2005
- T-SQL Programming
- MSSQL ETL
- Data warehousing + OLAP concepts and procedures
- MSSQL Analysis Services
- Data mining concepts
- Experience in all phases of the software development cycle
Required Skills:
- OLAP cube based reports and dashboards plus general reporting leveraging Microsoft Reporting Services
- Experience with data analysis, data modeling, replication and data transformation services
- Strong T-SQL and Stored Procedure coding abilities
- Strong experience with methodologies specifically for database design
- Solid experience in optimizing databases, solid understanding of referential integrity and understand the use of indexes
- Possess a solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & 2005 and Windows operating system
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work with supervisory direction to deliver excellent product
- Must display excellent written and oral communications skills
- Data warehouse and Analysis Services experience a plus
- Knowledge of Java is nice to have, but not required
